Howdy Folks!

The Getting Lost with Randy theme song…

Getting Lost with Randy, along the open road, taking roads less traveled, shedding that heavy load, no planned routes along the way, just going & living day to day, no job, no cares, no debts to pay, new faces & stories with lots to say; I’m Getting Lost with Randy, we’re Getting Lost with Randy, they’re Getting Lost with Randy, Getting Lost with Randy.

Back in 2013, when Getting Lost with Randy, or, GLwR, was in its infancy, I began working on the original website/blog that lasted for 4 years before, fittingly, it literally ended up Getting Lost.

Did I ever tell you the one about…how the old version of GLwR, literally, ended up, Getting Lost. Click this link for a brief synopsis in this GLwR Got Lost Bio.

As I was constructing everything, I started humming a tune, thought about a catchy little ditty & the words just came to me that fittingly stuck for it accurately conveyed my intentions for my upcoming adventurous travels.

Pictured are Eva & Brian, friends, lovers, partners & co-owners of The State Bar in Flagstaff, AZ. As per usual, I just picked an exit, pulled off the Interstate & randomly picked a spot to park my bike.

I walked around the town for about an hour, returned back to my ride, noticed another, old school, Honda parked right up on mine & a beautiful girl came running out of the bar.

She said, ‘are you Randy’, taken aback, I stated, ‘um, yeah, do I know you, how do you know me?’ She stated, ‘That’s my Honda, I parked right next to you so I would see you when you came back so I could talk to you b/c I pulled up your website you had decaled on your motorcycle.’ She continued, ‘I reviewed it, love it & what you’re doing & when I saw you return I just had to introduce myself.’

We got to talking, she told me the story behind her also a classic, Honda CX500 Custom, rad, bad motorcycle; it was quite the story. She too, is an avid motorcycle rider, to her too, it’s all about lifestyle. She continued to tell me how she’s in a vintage, old school, female motorcycle riding group/club.

After quiet a few of her stories, ladies always first, she inquired about my adventures. She said that even though she read a lot of them, she wanted me to share them with her in person. As the conversation up to this point was on the sidewalk in front of their bar that’s pictured above.

So, we went inside the bar. She introduced me to another bartender, got me a nice glass of Cabernet & asked me to begin my tales. I threw a few locations at her, asking her to pick, she picked one to start & then said, just keep picking one’s you want from there. We talked for hours.

I had to get a room for the night, which turned into a week by the time I bid au revoir, motoring on to other adventures. Anyway, I asked her if she knew a decent, inexpensive, place to stay & she directed me down the street, just 10 blocks away to a quaint corner motel.

I reflected on what another amazing fortuitous serendipity random happenchance meeting to tell about. Just before I walked out the door, she invited me to dinner & have happy hour drinks on her & Brian so that we could get to know one another a bit more, sharing more adventures in travels & talk motorcycles.

The rest is history, one of many fun stories to tell & share. Of course there is a lot more to this wonderful tale that one day down the road might make it back to this GLwR website/blog.

Peace & Love, Awaken, until next time…
